Zeus Motorcycle Gear have recently launched protective motorcycle jeans, dubbed the Zeus Dark Rider Motorcycle Jeans, retailing at INR 4499.

The Dark Rider Jeans are a boon for those who want pants that offer style, comfort as well as protection. It is not always possible to wear Cordura/Leather riding pants or standalone knee pads while going to office, or a party for example. Most people will infact forego protection and simply wear normal pants without any protection. This is where the Zeus Dark Rider Motorcycle Jeans plays its role really well.

Armed with Knox knee armor and Knox hip armor, along with reinforced lining in the form of Dupont Kevlar fiber at the impact points such as the knees and the hips, this pair of 12.5 oz heavy duty jeans offers good protection at the impact points. Fitting of the knee armor is really simple and quick: Simply slide in the Knox Knee armor inside the pocket provided for it, as shown below:

This makes the jeans easily washable due to quick removal of the armors. It also features 3M Scotchlite reflective taping on the lower inseam of the jeans, which I think is a clever addition that shall aid in visibility. Other notable features include Accordion stretch panels on the knees and hips for better comfort and and easy movement while riding, original YKK zippers, and a total of 5 pockets present, which is what you get on a regular pair of jeans as well. The motorcycle jeans are available in two colors and look really good too. Available sizes are 30-44 but sizes above 44 are also taken through pre-orders. The fit pattern is a Masculine Fit/Mid Raise Comfort boot fit, which should keep you comfortable on or off the saddle.

At INR 4499, the Zeus Dark Rider Motorcycle Jeans offers practicality for regular use along with adequate armors and reinforcements for protection. This product would be a good bet for daily commutes, as well as on short rides where the speeds are not too high. Why not advisable at higher speeds you would ask? Well that is due to the fact that jeans do not offer as much abrasion resistance as proper riding pants that are constructed out of stronger Cordura or Leather. So if you are the tourer type, I would recommend going for proper riding pants (Click here for the Spartan Progear Proteus riding pant review)
